How Can We Embrace a Fresh Start in a Time of Disruption?

There’s something about the start of a thing that carries a special kind of energy. It’s not quite defined, not yet refined, but full of potential. Like a newborn baby, a new job, a cross country move…And that’s where we are right now—with Uranus newly in Gemini and the Sun moving toward Leo, we’re standing at the threshold of a brand new era.

But I know beginnings can feel overwhelming, especially when the world is shifting so fast. So today, I want to gently hold space for this energy and walk with you through the lens of Gate 53, the Gate of Beginnings. Whether you’re feeling inspired, anxious, or just plain unsure, there’s a frequency of trust embedded in this gate that’s meant to help you breathe and begin again.

Before we dive in, I have a special heads-up: Leo Season (a.k.a. King/Queen Season and MY birthday month!) is almost here, and I’ll be announcing something exciting on July 21, only for my email and text message subscribers. So, get on the list, and join us for the party this month!

What is the Energy of Gate 53 in Human Design and Gene Keys?

Gate 53, located in the Root Center, is about new beginnings—but not just any beginnings. This gate isn’t rushing to complete a thing. It honors the initiation of cycles. It whispers, “It’s okay to start slow.” In the Gene Keys, this gate moves from Immaturity to Expansion to the Siddhi of Superabundance. But here’s the secret: expansion begins by rooting in presence. If you’ve been waiting for a clear next step, the key might be to honor the little spark that’s already been kindled in your heart.

As a 6/2 Projector, I’ve lived through a lot of trial and error in my “first 30 years.” What I’ve learned is that not every beginning needs a plan. Some just need permission. Gate 53 reminds us that it’s safe to trust what wants to be born. I am the safety I am seeking in the world.

How Does Uranus in Gemini Influence Us This Week?

Uranus in Gemini shakes up the collective mind. The last two times this transit occurred were during the Civil War and World War II. And while I don’t believe we’re headed into the same kind of war, we are entering a battle (honestly we have already been “in it” to varying degrees) of a different kind: the war of information vs. disinformation.

As entrepreneurs, leaders, and conscious creators, we have a responsibility to discern truth from noise. But we also have a right to protect our nervous systems. Uranus wants to innovate—but innovation requires integration.

If you’re feeling anxious about the “big energy” of this week, breathe. Ground. Start small. There’s wisdom in beginning with what’s in front of you.

What Does the I Ching Teach Us About Gate 53?

Gate 53 corresponds to Hexagram 53: Development (Gradual Progress). This hexagram is often illustrated by the image of a tree slowly growing on a mountain. It’s about steady, patient progress—not explosive results. It’s about commitment, pacing, and trusting your path even when the destination isn’t clear yet.

This is a powerful reminder that beginnings aren’t just exciting—they’re sacred. And like a tree, your roots must deepen before you can stretch tall.

How Does Gate 53 Relate to Kabbalah?

In the language of Kabbalah, Gate 53 connects beautifully to the sefirah of Netzach, the sphere of endurance, flow, and creativity. This is the energy of becoming—of taking that first brave step even when the outcome isn’t certain.

It also reflects the sacred cycle embedded in creation: Vayehi erev, vayehi voker—“There was evening and there was morning.” Every cycle starts in the dark. Every breakthrough is preceded by contraction. That’s not a mistake—it’s design.

How Can Spiritual Entrepreneurs Harness Gate 53 Energy in Business?

  1. Honor your new ideas without rushing to monetize them. Let your next offer breathe. Jot it down, talk it out, incubate it.
  2. Use this week to revisit old starts. What did you begin that still has life in it? Bring it back with fresh eyes.
  3. Create a new entry point. Whether it’s a lead magnet, blog series, or soft launch, ask: What is the gentlest invitation I can offer right now?

What Young Living Oils Support This Gate?

To align with the renewing energy of Gate 53, I recommend:

  • 🌿 Spearmint – clears the mental clutter so you can focus on new beginnings.
  • 🌲 Northern Lights Black Spruce – grounding support for Uranian disruption (and smells amazing!)
  • 🍊 Tangerine – the joyful spark of creativity and adventure.

Try diffusing 2 drops of each in your workspace for a soft, inspired start to your next cycle. By the way, did you know I have a class on Teachable called, “Safety First – A Beginner’s Guide to Essential Oils?” YES! I LOVE THEM. But, I wouldn’t have started using them without trying them out first. So, for a limited time, all new students in my course will receive a complimentary care package with a sample of each of my favorite three oils: Thieves, Lemon, and Lavender. Get yours today!

How Can Parents Support This Energy in Their Kids?

Children expressing Gate 53 may leap into new projects—then leave them half-finished. Instead of pushing them to complete everything, celebrate the courage it took to start. You can gently guide them by co-creating structures that feel playful and light.

And a personal note—
When I was little, my mom worried I had a developmental delay because I was “reluctant to speak.” But my aunts—who later turned out to be Projectors, like me—always got me to communicate. They asked open-ended questions, which worked beautifully with my Undefined Throat and Undefined Sacral Center.

My mom, a Manifesting Generator, loved Yes/No questions—which totally shut me down. (If only she’d known about Human Design!) She used to tell the story of how, at ten months old, my aunts would prop me up on a big pillow and ask, “What do you want to play with?” I’d point and squeal, and they’d bring it to me—delighted that I was “talking” in my own way.

We moved away from family not long after that, and my mom began conditioning me to answer Yes/No questions. Later, she’d get frustrated that if I didn’t know the answer, I’d still come up with something—OY! I often wonder how different our experience of each other might have been if she had asked, “Just curious, what do you know about ______?” instead of, “Did you know your brother was doing XYZ?” (I mean… obviously I’m going to say NO! with that tone of voice, LOL.)

My mother, of blessed memory, would have absolutely loved Human Design. And despite all our challenges, we did our best—and truly, all is forgiven.

What’s a Simple Way to Improve Communication During This Season?

If Uranus in Gemini has you feeling overwhelmed by communication breakdowns or emotional misfires, here’s a tool I highly recommend:

🎁 Three Secrets to Effective Communication
This free resource was designed with moms in mind, but honestly? I want you to run a copy for yourself, your partner, your child, your co-founder—anyone you talk to regularly.

Because when you understand how someone’s energy is designed to speak and be heard, everything changes.

(And if you’ve got an Undefined Throat like me, this is your cheat code to being heard!)

✨ Stay curious. Start small. And remember: beginnings don’t have to be loud to be powerful. Sometimes, the biggest magic starts with a happy squeal from your happy inner child.

With love and fresh spring-green vibes,
Sashya
