brand feels off after designer
Why Does My Brand Feel Off Even After Working With a Designer?
Because a designer builds what you describe. She cannot build what you have not found yet.

This is one of the most common things I hear from spiritual entrepreneurs who have already invested in branding: “We did all the work. I have the logo, the website, the colors. And it still does not feel like me.”
The designer did her job. The issue is not the design.
What was missing is the layer underneath: the part of your brand that comes from your design, your chart, your actual wiring. Not from a questionnaire about what vibe you want to project.
Most brand strategy processes ask you to answer questions about your brand before you have done the deeper work of figuring out what your brand actually is. You answer as best you can. The designer builds from those answers. When it is done, it looks professional… and somehow still feels like a stranger’s house.
I had a client come in as a simple tech request. She had already hired a web designer and assumed her branding was handled. In her session, we surfaced color and font misalignment she had never been able to name. She trusted the work enough to hire me again to implement the changes. Her words afterward: “I can’t tell you how long I’ve wanted this service and didn’t even consciously know it. And then to be seen with such alignment? Amazing.” (Shelley C., confirmed)
The design was never the problem. The source material was.
When I work with someone, we go to the chart before we talk about colors or logos or taglines. Then when a designer gets involved, the brief they receive is grounded in something real. And the final result feels like coming home.
The Brand Archetype Quiz is a good place to go back to the source.
And if you want to understand more about what chart-based brand identity looks like in practice, I am running a free live workshop on exactly this. Replay available if you cannot attend live.
