The Prompter’s Box: Your Astrology Forecast for October 19-25, 2026

Five planets are in reverse, Mercury makes six on Saturday, and self-doubt has grabbed the script. This week we stay in the show, one small task at a time.

Every theater has a person the audience never sees. She sits in a little box at the edge of the stage with a copy of the script, and her whole job is to whisper the next line when an actor goes blank.

Self-doubt has been working that box all month. This week it grabbed the wrong script. The lines coming through sound like: Who do we think we are? Maybe it’s time to quit. Maybe we made the whole thing up.

Mine has been running in overdrive, so I’ve been knocking out one task at a time. Finish one. Pick the next. It isn’t glamorous, but it keeps the show moving. Today I decided to stop listening to that voice.

With this many planets in reverse, it’s enough to make anyone feel a little crazy. Saturn, Neptune, Uranus, Chiron and Venus are all walking backward right now, Mercury joins them Saturday, and Pluto just turned direct. When that many actors move in reverse at once, we start to wonder whether the production is running backward or whether we’ve lost our place. We haven’t. Dr. Karen Curry Parker describes these as cycles within cycles that work together for our greatest good, and this week I’m holding onto that.

The Sun gives us the plot. It spent Monday in Gate 32, the Gate of Continuity, which asks one question: Will this last? Its shadow is Failure, the habit of arranging things so they fail safely before anyone can judge them. The prompter adores that one.

Tuesday the Sun steps into Gate 50, the Gate of Values, and stays into the weekend, right through its costume change into Scorpio. Gate 50’s shadow is Corruption, which sounds theatrical but looks ordinary: a slow wearing-away from small compromises, from giving more than we have. The cauldron on that gate does not lie. Whatever goes in is what comes out.

Two slow retrogrades are working backstage all week. Uranus, backing through Gemini, stirs up questions about our rule-breaking, our communication and our everyday mental habits. Neptune, in Aries, blocks the shove-yourself-harder kind of discipline for now and asks what inspires us instead. As its fog thins, we get a clear read on what we personally believe, apart from what anyone taught us.

Day by day, the show goes like this.

MONDAY: The Prompter Gets the Wrong Script

The Moon prances onstage in silver sneakers, clipboard in hand, and meets Pluto in Aquarius. She’s cool and objective, and she shakes hands with Uranus and Neptune on her way through. It’s a lovely morning for intuition and for solving a problem without getting swallowed by it.

Venus, magnetic as ever and still walking backward in her heels, squares up to Pluto, who has a hand on the dimmer switch. Neither is in a hurry, but the lights keep climbing. Passionate conversations are on the table.

Mars swaggers in from Leo with a mane of stage hair, and Saturn waits at the stage door with a stopwatch. They get along this week, and the result is electrifying focus we can use.

TUESDAY: Venus Squares Pluto, Take Two

This is the second of three rounds between them: September 15, today, and December 9. Pluto turns the house lights all the way up on the line Venus mumbled, and the audience sees it. Worth and control get the spotlight, along with a few old resentments.

Neptune slides in at the fog machine with his hand on the lever, and Venus lands in an awkward angle with him that lingers all week. Who we are, who others think we should be, and the dream we’re holding all blur together. We might feel drained or a little directionless, and that’s the fog talking, not the facts.

The Moon in Aquarius opposes Mars and Jupiter today, so everything looks bigger than it is. Meanwhile the Sun steps into Gate 50.

WEDNESDAY: Don’t Gaslight the Revelation

The Moon goes void at 4:42 a.m. ET, then slips into Pisces at 8:35 a.m., dreamy in a damp raincoat, humming. The Sun opposes Chiron, who limps in dragging an old costume trunk, the one packed with the tender bruise about always going first. Neptune’s fog machine hisses right on cue, and suddenly what we realized yesterday looks like something we made up.

We didn’t make it up. A Mystic Rectangle is active, a pattern that makes room for a striking sign or a sudden sense of direction, and the Sun is on good terms with the nodes. The Moon also brushes past Uranus, which can mean one zany, welcome idea.

THURSDAY: The Last Curtain Call of Libra Season

Libra season takes its final bow today. The Moon and Mercury have a lively chat, and it’s a flagged day for creative work, especially writing. If an email or an offer description is waiting for words, this is the day.

Late tonight the Moon goes void at 11:31 p.m. ET and stays that way until Friday afternoon. Words slip easily in that stretch. We may misread a tone or send something that lands sideways.

FRIDAY: Venus Walks Into the Sun’s Spotlight

The Sun changes costume at 5:38 a.m. ET, Libra silk off, Scorpio velvet on. Happy birthday, Scorpios. The Moon waits out her long void, then enters Aries at 3:53 p.m. ET, and the stretch before that can feel boundless and a little emotional. If it does, that’s why.

Late tonight, at 11:50 p.m. ET, Venus walks so far into the Sun’s dazzling spotlight at 0 degrees 45 minutes of Scorpio that she vanishes in the glare. She comes out the other side radiant and reborn. It’s a gorgeous moment to set an intention about love, money and worth, and dreams tend to run big around it.

SATURDAY: Mercury Turns Around

At 3:12 a.m. ET, Mercury plants his feet at 20 degrees 59 minutes of Scorpio and squares Jupiter, who magnifies whatever he touches. Then Mercury does a slow about-face, and a GPS voice somewhere in the wings says, “Recalculating.” He backs through Gates 43, 1, 44 and 28 until November 13.

The route is being redrawn. We may feel a mental slowdown this weekend, even a shutdown, and that’s a cue to rest. The Moon in Aries is on good terms with Saturn and Mars, which helps.

SUNDAY: Venus Slides Back into Libra

Early on, the Moon in Aries opposes Venus. Then Venus slips back into Libra, where the energy turns tender, more about relationship and balance, though a little heat remains. At 7:35 p.m. ET the Moon enters Taurus, kicks off her shoes and plants her bare feet on a luscious rug.

The Taurus Full Moon peaks at 12:12 a.m. ET Monday, which is Sunday evening in much of the country. Pluto squares both the Sun and the Moon, so it pulls from more than one side. More on that next week.

Let me repeat my advise for this week: Pause if needed. But don’t quit. What we let go of this week is the old story about our worth. Don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater.

One task at a time. Finish it, then pick the next. The prompter will keep whispering, but if you already know your lines, you can ignore her and keep dancing anyway.
