Can a Brand Archetype Quiz Get It Wrong?

Yes. And it happens more often than most people want to admit.

Brand archetype quizzes are built on self-reporting. You answer questions about how you see yourself, and the quiz matches you to an archetype based on those answers.

The problem: how you see yourself is not fixed. It changes based on your mood, your season, and what is going on in your life. I have had clients take the same quiz four times over two years and get a different result every time. They were not confused. The quiz was measuring a moving target.

There is a subtler issue too. Most quiz questions are written around positive self-perception: “I see myself as a leader.” “My friends would describe me as…” But the archetype that is actually running your brand might be one you have not fully owned yet. Quizzes cannot capture what you don’t know about yourself.

When I calculate a brand archetype directly from an astrological birth chart, I am working from fixed data. The planets do not shift based on how someone’s week is going. The chart is the chart.

That is not to say quizzes have no value. They can be a useful starting point. But if you have taken one and the result did not feel quite right… or if you have taken several and gotten conflicting results… the quiz did not fail you. The methodology has limits. And just maybe it was asking the wrong question? *wink*

The Brand Archetype Quiz uses your birth chart instead of self-reporting: a different starting point entirely.

And if you want to understand more about what chart-based brand identity looks like in practice, I am running a free live workshop on exactly this. Replay available if you cannot attend live.
