Gate 64 corresponds to Hexagram 64, Before Completion. The image is a fox crossing a frozen river, so close to the far shore she can already smell home… and then she dips her tail in the water on the very last step.
The last three feet of that crossing carry the entire lesson. Success was right there. The fox forgot that almost done still requires attention.
