The Lion’s Gate falls on August 8, a rare year where it lands on Shabbat itself. For entrepreneurs, the week favors one small, unglamorous fix over any big relaunch, especially once Saturn trines the Sun on Thursday.

The Nodes Just Shifted. Here’s What the Rest of the Week Wants From Us.

The North Node moved into Aquarius on July 26, and the South Node into Leo. We’re being asked to trade the puffed-up, attention-hungry habits for something wider: real innovation, real community, real commitment to the causes we actually care about. Our own heart chakra has been cracking open all summer to make room for it, and this week, the sky hands us a river to practice on. Literally, in my case. I finally learned to read a river on a kayak trip this week (fifty years old and a few days), and the whole thing turned into a lesson about when to trust our gut and when to go quiet: which is exactly the assignment the planets are handing us for the rest of this week.

WEDNESDAY

We start in Gate 33 this week: the Gate of Retreat. Gate 33 knows something the rest of us are relearning in real time, that we can’t process an experience while we’re still standing in the middle of it. We need the quiet water off to the side before we can name what just happened in the current. That tracks with the river. It tracks with a heart chakra that’s still integrating a whole summer of expansion. The Moon is parked in Taurus this morning too: feet planted, jaw set, in no rush to be anywhere else. But she’s squaring off with the Sun, Jupiter, and Pluto today, and that stubbornness turns into standoff energy. Picture two people at the same table, both convinced they’re right, neither one reaching for the check. Watch our words today: Taurus doesn’t raise her voice, she just goes immovable, and immovable can curdle into biting if we let it sit too long.

THURSDAY

This is the day. Venus comes home to Libra, her own sign, and she walks in like she’s finally allowed to redecorate. Beauty stops being a luxury today and starts being medicine: the flowers we buy ourselves, the outfit that makes us feel like we take up space, the values check we’ve been avoiding. At 19:43 PDT, the Sun and Saturn form an exact trine, and Saturn does something he rarely does: he puts a hand on our shoulder instead of a weight on our back.

Thursday’s Saturn trine is not asking for a relaunch. It’s asking for the one unglamorous fix we’ve been putting off: the tech thing, the boundary, the piece of paperwork. Lay that single brick and let it be enough this week.

We move into Gate 7 on Thursday too, right alongside Venus. Gate 7 is the quiet, unglamorous work of leadership, which tracks.

The Moon in Taurus catches a soft aspect from Mercury before going void in the evening and slipping into Gemini overnight, so if there’s one honest conversation we’ve been sitting on, the afternoon is kinder to it than the morning.

FRIDAY

The Moon wakes up in Gemini, and suddenly everyone wants to talk. She’s trining Venus in Libra and Pluto in Aquarius at the same time, which stacks into a full grand air trine: three points of pure mental electricity, all agreeing with each other. This is the day for the brainstorm, the trip we book, the idea we finally say out loud to someone who gets it. The Sun and Saturn are still holding their trine too, so whatever we started building yesterday, today rewards the discipline to keep showing up for it. The only trap here is scattering: Gemini loves fifteen open tabs. Pick one.

SATURDAY

8/8. Lion’s Gate. The Moon in Gemini reaches a steady hand toward Saturn today, softening what could otherwise be a wobbly, talk-too-much kind of day into something more grounded.

Eight carries real weight beyond the astrology too. In Kabbalah, seven is the number of nature: six days of creation plus the Shabbat that crowns them, the whole natural order sealed shut and complete. Eight is what comes after nature finishes. It’s the number of the supernatural: the place where logic runs out and something beyond it takes over.

And this year, 8/8 lands on Shabbat itself. The one day already set apart from ordinary time, carrying the one number that means beyond ordinary time. How serendipitous!

So this Lion’s Gate isn’t just numerology dressed up pretty. It’s an invitation to stop calculating what’s realistic, and give freely anyway. Relationships take center stage today, for better or worse. Whatever’s true between us and the people closest to us tends to surface hard on a day like this. Let it.

SUNDAY

The Moon moves into Cancer before sunrise and immediately steps into a T-square: squaring Venus in Libra, squaring Neptune in Aries, while Venus and Neptune oppose each other directly overhead. That’s real tension, especially for anyone with strong Cancer, Aries, Libra, or Capricorn in the chart. Expect a shorter fuse than usual, especially inside the family. Mercury also leaves Cancer’s waters today and steps into Leo’s spotlight, where he’ll stay until August 25: conversations get louder, headlines get flashier, and everyone’s opinion gets a little more theatrical. Say the true thing today, just say it slowly. The Moon’s aspect to Pluto wants us to speak, but Neptune’s fog in the sky means what we mean and what comes out might not match perfectly the first time.
